Rainbows and Sunshine
Aug. 26th, 2005 07:19 amYesterday, me and the kids are on the way out of the door. We're chatting, checking to see if we forgot anything, turning off lights... and the sky falls. It's raining like it's monsoon season only there's bright sunshine behind the house. Since all of us walk and are without umbrellas (to be remedied ASAP!), we just grabbed jackets and took one for the team.
I walked up the street and was nearly to the bus stop when the rain STOPPED. Like it had never rained. As if the clouds went, "Okay! She's wet enough!"
Cranky, wet and annoyed, I continued my walk and happened to look over my shoulder.
There was a beautiful full-arch rainbow.
I blinked, figuring it would fade. Nope, got brighter. Even better, there was another full-arch rainbow over that one.
Every stress, annoyance, little nagging bit of whatever went away. I grinned the whole day.
